EXTREME SPORTS - Part II

KITING

Many modernizations can be found in “kite disciplines”. It has all started with kite surfing, which is now about 20 years but in the meantime has turned into many new inventions, which apply the usage of kite. Kite surfing became extremely popular only few years ago, but it has competition. There’s kite surfing, kite skating, kite skateboarding, doomwheels kite skating , kite buggying, kite skiing/snowboarding and kite boarding- all of them motioned with the power of kite. Each becoming hazardous due to the speed provided by kite. However, I’m not willing to describe each of them only to give an idea of kite sports diversity.

SNOWKITE

Kite discipline that I would like to mention is kite skiing or snowboarding, otherwise called snowkite. It is quite spectacular and can be linked to oncoming winter season, as it is practiced in the presence of snow and suitable equipment. It is also a discipline among extreme sports that has been gaining more and more attention. Why is it credited with the label of an extreme sport? When the wind brings you down you fall on no water , but hard ice, which may cause serious lesions. You also need to have a very good knowledge of wind. Kite enables for really large speeds so you need to have an absolute control of your ride. There are more and more snowkite school and camps, so out of the free extreme sports I’ve already mentioned I suspect that one is the most accessible for you. Easy to Google-if you are good skiers, snowboarders or kite surfers, you can try.

Here you can have a look at the masters of the discipline, tricks they make etc.

OTHER NEW EXTREME SPORTS

To extend you knowledge on newest extreme sports I found this 30-places-rank with all the novelties in the field. Some are really innovative, some very extreme. Other don’t make too much sense-at least to me. Ostrich racing- they really do that? What do you think of snowbiking or powerising? Is underwater golf even an extreme sport?
Maybe, Do You know other types of kite disciplines? Do you want to try something of these sports?

  1. You can use mountainboard as well with your kite. Here are some photos:

  2. extreme sports are nice to watch when performed by others, but when you try them yourself it turns out that it is not as easy as it may look like :) For example i would like to try powerising. Looks pretty easy but the equipment is not that cheap and spending that much money just to have fun for few minutes is too much for me.

  3. Unfortunately, I am not into extreme sports. I like feeling safe. Presented 30 new extreme spots are really crazy.People who do that must have a lot of power, vigor and imagination. Simple sports are not enoygh for the. They aren't, for sure, ordinary people. To some extend I admire them.

  4. I totally agree with our friend s4828 (:) extreme sports are always nice to be watched from a distance but the fact is that only a very small group of people is able to perform extreme tricks and stay alive :). Unfortunately many of us think that this is just a matter of skills and "a body was never found said police :)"

  5. I agree with you guys - it's nice to watch, but pretty scary to do. However when I'll feel I've mastered my skiing skills to a very high level and will be enough young to not break my bones every time I fall I think I'll give it a try.

  6. It looks very fun and it isn't that dengerous like others extreme sports. Unfortunately they'll attain perfection, it could take some time.
    Practice makes Master.

  7. I have to agree with most of other people and say that it is not so easy to start any of these extreme sports. You need to be very courageous, self-confident and you have to be looking for more adrenaline than normal sports provide. I really enjoy watching Footvolley – a combination of volleyball and soccer. It is similar to Bossaball. You can take a look at it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mGP3L9gOjU. It requires amazing control of the ball and what is most important – it is probably the ‘less extreme’ of all the other sports presented. I would like to try it someday.
